The Tenue. Butch is a loose fit jean with a medium-high rise and a tapered leg.
The ‘True Blue’ fabric’s name refers to the deep, dark blue indigo color and iconic red selvedge line: a classic denim fabric that’s been made by Japan’s first denim mill since the 1970s. The Butch ‘True Blue’ jeans are made by the Canova family who run a denim laboratory in Due Carrare, Italy where they let denim meet couture.

The best way to describe the extraordinary IMJIT factory is to start by saying it is not really a factory. We perceive our facility in Padova as a laboratory, a boiler room where jeans are designed, developed and made. It is the only factory we ever stepped foot in that actually makes haute couture for Parisian and British designers as well as jeans for companies such as Tenue.. It’s this constant clash of cultures as well as their apparent expertise that makes the factory so unique. The laboratory of the Canova family was established in the 1980s, during the true denim Eldorado in the Veneto area.
